Get Organized

Rethink furniture designed for other rooms in the house...

Ladder shelving is kinda on it's way out of the design world for everyday furniture so this means you can often find these pieces on sale and clearance. Throw on a couple of baskets and there you have it - a fully functional storage space.

New Arrivals - Yarn/Knitting

New cotton yarn just arrived today. It is Bernet's Cottontots in 4 variegated colors - I think it is super fun and have my project all picked out to start working on. Under $6 for 150 yards of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn.

More Sugar & Cream arrived today as well for all you dishcloth makers who have been looking for more.

Knitting Looms - Hat and Scarf - great for kids needing a winter project

I also finally was able to get a Crocheter's Companion book which is comparable to the purple Knitter's Companion we already carry - this is a great reference book for all levels of knitters and crocheters.
Our goal this year is to expand our knitting and crocheting section of the store so please send us your feedback and wishes so we can help you shop locally.

Craft Idea

Antiqued Photo's = Home Decor in Minutes

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
-- Photos (Sepia-tone or black-and-white images work well. You can convert many photos to black-and-white or brown tones at do-it-yourself photo centers.)
-- Paper trimmer
-- Wood trim pieces (available in the trim section at home center stores)
-- Acrylic paints in desired colors
-- Paintbrush
-- Spray adhesive
-- Gold highlighting medium
-- Fine sandpaper
-- Tack cloth

1. Trim the photos to fit your wood pieces.
2. Paint each wood piece with one coat of acrylic paint in desired color. Let the paint dry.
3. In a well-ventilated work area, spray the back of the photos with adhesive; mount onto the painted pieces of wood trim.
4. Place a small amount of gold highlighting medium on your finger and rub it onto the wood until the desired highlight is achieved.
5. Use fine sandpaper to sand edges and corners where the photo is attached to give it a subtle worn effect. Sand the raised areas on wood pieces. Wipe off the dust with a tack cloth.
